Ugly Duck Lips

So i finally started making the Swan makeup layers starting with basic lipcolors

they are fully painted/shaded lips not just color overlays with varying degrees of gloss.

Theres 3 in each pack for 150L but as far as i know they'll only fit my skins (though they do fit all the Swan tones so far) This is because i draw the lips on my skins quite small to stay as close as possible to the transformable part of the skin/lip mesh so on some other skins they wont cover properly.

More to come this week including eye makeups and more daring lips :D

Nope, i've been digging through my inventory again and playing dress-up (and maybe buying some new stuffs) So this is the result: Red Star - Aka Little Makita

Ok yes, the stuff - The hair is BOON who i think does some of the best hair texture work in SL

Theres actually 2 styles here, one for with the hat and one for without

The Gun and knife are both from Rapture and again, awsome texture work!

Though i can't testify to how good they work as SL weapons

I wanted a skinny body rather than muscley and am pretty pleased with how it turned out

Its made specifically for the female shape and might look wierd on a male shape (but i did make a shape for sale alongside it too)

So i've kinda started noticing that lots of the same stuff gets blogged over and over which seems a shame to me since SL has this huge diverse pool of talent within it.

Do things have to be new to blog them?

Do they have to be made by a certain few designers?

Are clothes that were made 6 months, a year, 2 years so vastly inferior to whats 'in' at the moment?

Maybe its just me but it seems sad that when you scroll down some feeds the same thing is blogged in every other post.

Im by no means having a go at bloggers here who blog full time. I get that its cool to be the first to get that new release on your page. I get that there's peer presure to be current and 'in' but isn't SL a place where you can be whatever you want to be? not what someone else thinks you should be.

In my opinion people who create in SL often rely on trickle sales, ie they make something that takes x ammount of time to create and sell that item for a few rl dollars with the hope that it will pay their effort back over time (as you only need to make that item once then can sell it indefinatley) But i read somewhere this week that SL fashion seems to be turning into an arms race which rings scarily true.

Everything has to be new.

Whats this got to do with the pictures above?

Nothing apart from some of the items are from 2008 i suppose and still stand up in quality to whats being released today.

Anyway, *gets off soapbox* i'll continue to blog what i love beit new or old

So i remade some of my older skins into tattoo layers and fixed them up/colored them

Theres 8 different colors and each pack contains a faded and bright version.

Since Hippies were around like 200 years or so ago, about the same time as Jeebus - i thought id wear some really old SL vintage clothes (which are still awsome!)

So i have it on good authority that Jeebus was a hippy and probably dressed similar to this - who knows he may have even worn EnSvale too

New Face added to Swan skins

Oh hi sorry about the boobs but i was trying to do a viveros type pic but it turned into something else

ANYWAY I added a new face to the Swan Skin packs with and without makeup (not this makeup here)

I think its made an amazing difference on how the skins look on different shapes but grab a demo and see for yourselves.

To make room for it i removed the blush and moles version and hopefully sent replacements to everyone who already bought one.

While looking for a collar for the Viv style picture, i had to brave many a sleazy sim (sad face)

My friend finally found this one and its really well made

I had a chance to chat with the creator whos really helpful and seems a genuinly nice person

(which i think makes all the difference in SL)

I wanted to make an outfit around this awsome jacket (which is a mans jacket i think) from NDS

Since im wearing mens clothes i thought id try to feminise (sounds like an air freshner) it with girly skirts and hair and stuffs. As always most of the stuff is dug out of the dark corners of my inventory so i cant guarentee they'll all still be on sale but hay ho.

Series 5 - Swan preview

I've been working on my series 5 skins for about 5 or 6 months but wasn't happy with how they were going.

The jaw was too angular, face too harsh. I bought a 3d programme that let me do things with my skins i couldnt before. Then playing around in PS i finally made a head i was happy with, at first it was just a variation on my series 4 but ive merged the new body and head with it and im so happy with the results.

I'll be selling the series 5 skins a little differently than i usually do.

Theres 5 eyebrow options - Brown, Red, Blonde, Black and Neutral

In each of these packs theres 4 base skins - Pure (just the base skin), Blush (rosey cheeks), Moles (blush and moles) and Basic eye makeup (a very light eye makeup for wearing with prim lashes etc)

There wont be any other skin to buy once you have the base skin. I plan to simply do lots and lots of mix and match makeup layers so its possible to create many unique looks although many of these makeup layers will only be usable with this skin (eg lips) to make them as good as possible due to the way i mix layer styles when doing lips etc.

So far, ive only done my pale skin (called Beth) but in time ill do a few other tones.

The body is completley redrawn and has such features as ribs that go all the way around the body and blend into the spine. Jawline shading, skull base shading etc. Ive also tried to combat 'smears' that can appear due to the SL av mesh, especially between the legs around the bum area.

WARNING PARTIAL NUDITY

The way i plan to sell the skins means im going to have to make the base skin more expensive to make it worth my while selling them so apologies in advance for that

But i'll still offer my series 4 at the same 1000L price

Awsome new hair out by Elika Tiramisu called 'Play' What i love about this style (apart from pigtails, hairgrips and elastic bands all in one style) is that it fits tightly to the head meaning you can wear hats with it!!

The Glow versions are lighter, the makeup is vivid(er) and just nicer :D
